Wrangler Roundup

Overnight Program
|
AGES 9-11

Saddle up! “Wrangler Roundup” will take our cowpokes out onto the ranges and ranches of Southwest Colorado. Three of our four days this week will be spent “wranglin” down at Circle K Ranch near Rico, Colorado for an a,dventure of all that is horses. We’ll learn the ins and outs of caring, grooming, and riding. Over the course of the week, we’ll spend some dusty days on the ranch, as well as have a double overnight camp-out by the stables for a truly Western experience. The ranch is also home to river exploration and lots of open space to explore and discover when we’re not sittin’ in the saddle. Horses are only half the fun in this Wrangle Wrangler’s!

*All participants must have cowboy boots (or shoes that protect the ankles and toes) and jeans to work with the horses.

A detailed daily itinerary will be provided to you on the Monday morning of the program.

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
