Filmmaker Fiesta invites campers to unleash their creativity and storytelling skills in a dynamic camp experience focused on filmmaking in the stunning outdoor landscape of Telluride. Participants will learn the basics of cinematography using state-of-the-art GoPro cameras, including framing, angles, and editing techniques. Each day, campers will embark on exciting outdoor adventures, capturing the beauty of nature and the thrill of action sports, from hiking to mountain biking. With guidance from professional filmmaker and photographer Brett Shreckengost, campers will receive expert instruction and insights into crafting compelling visual stories. Guided by experienced instructors, they will collaborate to create short films that showcase their unique perspectives and experiences. The camp culminates in a lively mini-film festival, where campers will present their projects to friends and family, celebrating their hard work and creativity. Join us for a week of fun, creativity, and unforgettable memories as we bring stories to life through the lens!

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
