Farmyard Frolic

Day Program
|
AGES 7-9

Saddle up for a week of Western Colorado ranch life—no sleeping bag required! Farmyard Frolic is a hands-on day camp where dirt is a badge of honor and every day brings a new adventure on local ranches, farms, and mesas surrounding Telluride. A midweek highlight takes us to Circle K Ranch for a half-day horse ride, where campers learn basic horsemanship and hit the trail with wranglers for a safe, unforgettable ride through canyon country. From planting seeds to exploring pastures, this camp is all about discovering where our food comes from, how ranches work, and why hard work can still be a whole lot of fun.

Each afternoon, we’ll return to town tired, dusty, and smiling—ready to do it all again the next day. By week’s end, campers will have learned new skills, made new friends (both human and animal), and gathered memories that last far beyond the fence line.

A detailed daily itinerary will be provided to you on the Monday morning of the program.

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
