Saddle up for an unforgettable mountain adventure! Join us and our friends at Rimrock Outfitters for a true backcountry horsepacking expedition through the rugged beauty of the West Mancos River drainage and Deer Lick Creek. Over four days and three nights, we’ll ride deep into the wilds of Mesa Verde Country. We’ll travel through fields of wildflowers, groves of aspen and pine, and across clear mountain creeks, all while taking in some of the most spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery imaginable.
Our adventure begins at the Rimrock corrals, where each Wrangler will be paired with a trusty, sure-footed horse. After a morning of safety lessons and riding instruction, we’ll hit the trail and climb high into the alpine wilderness, surrounded by sweeping vistas and the scent of pine. Once we arrive at our backcountry camp, we’ll settle in for evenings filled with hearty campfire meals, stories under the stars, and maybe even a few cowboy songs before turning in to the sounds of the forest.
Each day brings new trails and discoveries — from ghost towns and beaver dams to panoramic mountain passes beneath the towering Mt. Hesperus. Whether we’re crossing creeks, exploring hidden valleys, or sharing cowboy coffee by the morning fire, every moment on this trip promises adventure, connection, and pure Western magic.
By week’s end, our Rimrock Wranglers will return to the ranch dusty, grinning, and forever changed by the experience of life on horseback in Colorado’s high country.
