Way of the Wolf (11-13)

Travel Program
AGES 11-13

Have you ever heard the howl of a wolf or seen a wolf up close? Join Telluride Academy as we travel to Mission Wolf, a wolf rehab sanctuary located in the San Luis Valley whose mission is to educate people about these extraordinary animals.  We’ll meet the wolves up close and personal, tour the wolves’ home and participate in a service project to gain more insight into the world of these truly magical creatures.  Nights will find us falling asleep under the stars and listening to our new friends howl at the moon!  After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we’ll head to Great Sand Dunes National Park to surf the sands of this epic natural wonder. On Friday we’ll venture back to Telluride with a better appreciation for these wild, wondrous animals.

*This program may offer students an optional opportunity to assist with the dissection of deceased animals in order to feed the wolves. Alternative options for service projects will be made available for anyone who does not wish to participate.

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
