Trail Tykes

Day Program
|
AGES 5-7

Get ready to ride, explore, and have a blast at Trail Tykes, the ultimate mountain biking camp for younger campers learning to ride! Designed especially for elementary-aged campers, this camp is all about learning the basics of balance and mountain biking in a fun, safe, and exciting way.

Our expert instructors will teach you how to confidently balance, pedal, and maneuver on different types of terrain, from smooth trails to gentle hills. Each day, we’ll explore new trails around Telluride, playing fun bike games and tackling mini-challenges and competitions to improve our skills.

But the adventure doesn’t stop there! Along with mountain biking, campers will get to experience other awesome Telluride Academy activities, like trying out rock climbing, stand-up paddleboarding on calm waters, and unleashing their creativity with art projects inspired by the great outdoors. By the end of the week, you’ll be riding like a pro and have a collection of amazing memories to share!

*Students are required to provide their own mountain bikes and helmets for this program. Ask us about discounted rentals from our friends at Telluride BootDoctors!

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
