“Predators and Prey: Uncover the Wild Side of Nature!”
In Predators and Prey, a thrilling partnership with the San Juan Mountain Association, campers will explore the fascinating dynamics of predator-prey relationships in ecosystems around the world. Throughout the week, students will uncover the incredible adaptations that help predators hunt and allow prey to evade capture. Through hands-on activities, students will investigate food chains, food webs, and the critical roles these interactions play in nature. Highlights include exciting hunting and camouflage games and a special visit to the Wolfwood Refuge near Durango, where campers will get an up-close look at wolves and other predators, learning about their importance in maintaining ecological balance. This immersive experience provides campers with a rare opportunity to meet some of the region’s most awe-inspiring predators. With a perfect blend of adventure, education, and wildlife encounters, Predators and Prey fosters a love for the natural world and a deeper understanding of its delicate balance.
