Overnight Program

AGES 11-13

Peak Pursuers is a camper–custom designed adventure camp built for fun, challenge, and memorable experiences in the San Juan Mountains. The week blends teamwork and play with real adventure, including field day–style games, rock climbing, and a hands-on visit to Second Chance Humane Society in Ridgway. Campers will work together to plan meals and prepare for a double overnight expedition in the Norwood area, adding ownership and excitement to the journey. The highlight of the week is a two-night backcountry experience that culminates in a summit attempt of Lone Cone, offering big views and a true sense of accomplishment. With a balance of active days, shared goals, and time to connect as a group, Peak Pursuers delivers an adventurous, playful, and meaningful camp experience shaped by the campers themselves.

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
