Protect the beautiful ecosystems that sustain Telluride through exploration, education and action! All across the local valleys, rivers and mountains, students will be teaming up with local non-profits for an array of environmental education opportunities. Students will learn about Telluride’s environmental history from its beginnings in hard rock mining to today’s forest and watershed health restoration projects. They’ll learn how this small valley’s past has shaped today’s environment and hear about current scientific efforts to better understand our forest and watershed health. When we aren’t busy learning about how to save the planet, we’ll participate in traditional Telluride Academy activities such as SUPing, climbing and hiking. Our Earth Force program is a sure way for students to build a lifetime of passion for planet protection!
