The countdown to summer is on!

Camp Telluride

Two Week Overnight Program
|
AGES 6-8

Camp Telluride is the cornerstone of the Academy and represents our longest running and most popular model of programming. With a focus on outdoor exploration and fun, CT groups will spend a majority of their days exploring outside getting to know the rivers, lakes, mesas and trails of the Telluride region. All CT participants will also take part in an exciting overnight adventure once a week to special locations located within close proximity to the Telluride region. Parents will receive a detailed itinerary on the first day of the program that will give a tentative overview of each day’s planned activity. CT participants will experience outdoor adventures such as rock climbing, flat water boating, hiking and camping. Young adventurers will learn valuable skills and techniques required for future participation in these activities such as Leave No Trace ethics, paddling techniques and camp set-up. Because every Camp Telluride program has a unique theme that is creatively deigned by our talented instructors, participants will also partake in a kaleidoscope of other activities that may include field games, watershed education projects, geological expeditions, scavenger hunts, mine tours, visits to local museums, creative art projects and more. The sky’s the limit!

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
