Blood ‘n’ Cuts

Overnight Program
|
AGES 11-13

Can you save a life? Do you want to learn how? Telluride Academy is partnering with local organization, CPR World, to provide our students with Wilderness First Aid training! Students will work in a classroom and in the field while participating in mock rescues, CPR simulations and backcountry emergency care workshops.  They will learn how to clean and bandage a wound, splint a break, soothe a burn, wrap a sprain and deal with major medical emergencies such as head injuries and airway obstructions.  Students will build their own first aid kit and learn the proper use of each item in it. Students who complete this course will receive a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification from the American Safety and Health Institute. Amaze your friends and yourself with your newly acquired life-saving superpowers!

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
