Have you ever heard the howl of a wolf or seen a wolf up close? Join Telluride Academy as we travel to Mission: Wolf, a wolf rehab sanctuary located in the San Luis Valley whose mission is to educate people about these extraordinary animals. We’ll meet the wolves up close and personal, tour the wolves’ home and participate in a service project to gain more insight into the world of these truly magical creatures. Nights will find us falling asleep under the stars and listening to our new friends howl at the moon! After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we’ll head to Great Sand Dunes National Park to surf the sands of this epic natural wonder. On Friday we’ll venture back to Telluride with a better appreciation of these wild, wondrous animals.
*This program may offer students an optional opportunity to assist with the dissection of deceased animals in order to feed the wolves. Alternative options for service projects will be made available for any student who does not wish to participate.
