The countdown to summer is on!

Spellbound

Overnight Program
|
AGES 11-13

Welcome to the wonderful world of fantasy! In this program we will immerse ourselves in a magical week at the High Camp School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to learn all things necessary to become fully fledged witches or wizards. Accessed by a short trek into the backcountry, students will live in a massive mountain lodge that is fully equipped with a kitchen, lounging areas, wood burning stove and cozy sleeping quarters! The High Camp Express will drive us to the trailhead where we take an enchanting 2 mile backpack to the School. We’ll each have to carry our personal belongings and staples for our grand feast. We will attend potions class to learn about the herbology of the San Juan mountains, find the mythical creatures that lurk beneath Sheep Mountain, study astronomy, dive deep into stories of the stars and cast enchanting spells. In addition to our mystical lessons, we’ll enjoy soaking in the wood burning hot tub and sharing fireside stories. Bring your favorite magical tale and a sense of curiosity as we dive into the world of magic.

*Students are required to provide their own proper trekking backpacks and sleeping bags for this program.

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
