Welcome to “Happy Hikers,” a one-day program crafted for students eager to embark on a scenic adventure in the breathtaking San Juan Mountains. This program invites participants to lace up their hiking boots and explore the wonders of nature along a picturesque local trail. Nestled in the majestic beauty of the San Juans, students will enjoy a day filled with fresh mountain air, awe-inspiring vistas, and the camaraderie of friends. “Happy Hikers” is not just a hiking experience; it’s a chance to disconnect from the daily grind, connect with nature, and create lasting memories with friends!

Schedule:
Friday only 9am – 5pm
*Depending on the weather forecast, this program might begin at 8am. The Telluride Academy administration will be in contact with registered families with more information.

Telluride Academy's Overnight Policy

Our talented instructors work hard to combat student homesickness on overnight programs. For many students, this experience might be their first time camping or away from home! In the days leading up to the overnight(s), the instructors have positive conversations with the groups to get them excited and prepared for their overnight adventures. This dynamic gets interrupted when a student is picked up early from their overnight. For this reason, we can not accommodate early pick-ups, unless in the case of an emergency. If your child does not want to attend the overnight, or if you have prior commitments that require early pick-up accommodations, we ask that you consider choosing a day program instead. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
